![]() ![]() The other big update for Android 8.0 is the floating windows. ![]() This means users won’t be overrun by endless notifications, like in the past. From now on, next to the icon of an app, we’ll see a point that indicates that we have notifications for that specific application. Notification channels allow you to group together notifications and categorize them, while Notification dots will highlight individual app notifications. From now on notifications will be split into two categories: Notification Channels and Notification Dots. Also for anyone who doesnt have a headphone port on their phone or device (there becoming less and less common every year) this can also work over Bluetooth audio, so if you have some old Bluetooth headphones with a damaged speaker you can replace the speakers with IR leds or if you have an Alexa or Eco with a headphone/line out port you can put the IR blaster into that. The main update that enables a more fluid experience is the new notification system that organizes notifications based on origin and priority. Additionally most apps that work with IR blasters connected via the headphone port will be outputting half the signal to the left channel and half to the right channel so you would need to make sure that either the app supports mono output or you can set your device to mono output with both channels combined, however i have not personally tried this so dont know if this could cause any issues. The main reason 2 leds are used is due to a lot of devices not outputting enough voltage on a single channel for most IR leds, but there will be some devices that can do it with one led and also some Led's will work at lower voltages too but will have significantly reduced brightness and as such may not hace as much range as you may like or are used to and/or may need more accurate aiming at the reciever than a normal remote. ![]()
